The Coolest Chick You Don’t Know–Yet

“If all your friends jumped off a bridge, then would you jump too ?” our parents always asked us.  At the time, we knew that the  response that kept us out of more trouble was always ‘No’.  But, today, adventurer Erin Bonilla is saying,” Hell, yeah—sign me up!”  This blonde adventurer wants to do a tandem base jump off of the 876-foot New River Gorge Bridge!  To give you some perspective, this is more than 200 feet higher than the Seattle’s Space Needle (605 feet) and the St. Louis Arch (630 feet).

So, why does Bonilla want to take the leap in front of the expected 80,000 spectators of Bridge Day 2013?  Well, if jumping off of a bridge wasn’t crazy enough, she is building towards her goal to skydive in space.  Yes, you read that right:  Skydive.  In Space.  Remember Felix Baumgartner’s historic 24-mile, Red Bull-sponsored space skydive in October 2012?  Erin has met the Austrian daredevil, as well as the first man to skydive from the edge of space in 1960, Col. Joe Kittinger, USAF (Ret.).  Both space-dive pioneers advised her to continue striving towards this (literally) out-of-this-world goal…and she’s obviously heeding that advice.

The journey to space skydiving began with Bonilla leaping out of a plane 36 times (!) and attaining her Class-A skydiving license.  She hopes to take the next step on October 19 with her very first base jump in Fayetteville, West Virginia.  If Bonilla wins the opportunity to jump, Subaru will donate $1,000 to her charity of choice, the Stillbrave Childhood Cancer Foundation.  The organization was created by a friend of hers, who lost his daughter to the disease.

The Bailey Ryan Diaries: IMDb

emmapeelSo all of my thoughts and intentions about blogging my daily goings on have fallen by the wayside due to my hectic schedule.  When I last checked in, I mentioned I was going to give acting a try.  I really really want to say I’ve been working tons, going to casting calls, etc… but I have a day-to-day job as well (for those who don’t know, I run an entertainment company specializing in exotic bartenders, entertainment, and planning for weddings) and it seems that becoming a true working actor isn’t in the cards.

What seems to be in the cards however is a slow build of interest in me, and I’ve been cast in a commercial, a movie, and a TV show, leading to IMDb finally adding a credit for me!  It’s my first of few, but I was excited nonetheless.  I’m officially on IMDb’s radar, and that perhaps is a step in the right direction.  Or perhaps it’s nothing. I’m not really sure yet.  Either way, I can be found here:

Kisses!

The Bailey Ryan Dairies: Being Tall

IMG_4861I have decided to move forward with acting.  I’ve signed up for an acting class, and have been submitting myself for several background and character roles.

Since my last diary entry discussing the Screen Actors Guild, I have been cast in 2 feature films, and although I wont count my chickens before they hatch, I trust these people and look forward to working with them.

I went on my first “official” casting call yesterday, and tentatively landed “a role.”  I’m too new to know if this will happen or not, but the role I auditioned for I decidedly did not get, nor did I “technically” audition for it. I walked into the room and they said “sorry… too tall.”

Too Tall? Shit. Well I can’t change that. I still chatted them up, we had a nice meeting, and at the end they said the’d be in touch.  I thought I was doomed at that point, but this morning I received an email that said:

“This email is to inform you that you have the right look for a film like this, and everyone agrees that you had really great presence and attitude. I hope you understand that your 6′ in height only means I couldn’t use you for this specific character,  but if it’s OK, We’d like to talk with you next week to figure out another part you can play in this film…”

So perhaps not a strikeout, but does this mean I have promise?  I hope so.  In my paranoia, I looked online to see if there are any other actresses my height, and I was happy to find I’m not the only tall girl on the block.  It turns out that Brooke Shields, Uma Thurman, Sigourney Weaver, and Famke Janssen are all my height.  My fears are a little assuaged. I’m guessing I’ll never land a role with Tom Cruise though.

The Bailey Ryan Diaries: SAG. To Be, Or Not To Be? (a member)

sag-logo

Let’s be honest.  I’m not an actress.  I’ve never aspired to be an actress.  I’ve never taken acting classes or gone out to casting calls.  Yet I find myself in an amazing position that many actors and actresses spend years trying to achieve, and it was all on accident. I find myself eligible to join the Screen Actors Guild. The Bailey Ryan Diaries: The Beginning

Hi guys and gals.  I’ve decided to keep an online journal of my day to day or week to week happenings.  A few amazing things have happened to me recently and I thought it would be fun to talk about it in my own little blog.  Men’s Confidence Magazine was kind enough to allow me to have my own little corner of the web to chat, vent, discuss, etc…

Never fear! My sex advice column isn’t going away.  In fact, the limited fame I’ve received from it has prompted me to branch out into keeping a personal blog like diary online.  It will not be in the “dear diary” format, just occasional updates on real life happenings, social calendar updates, TV shoots, radio appearances, blah blah.

I hope you tune in.  I will update whenever I have something to chat about.  Feel free to drop me a line if you want me to discuss something you love.  :-)

She honored me with a one on one sit-down, and it turns out she is really approachable, sweet, and down to earth.  I love this girl!

down with Hollywood’s hottest celebs and interview them for the magazine.  When I was given the assignment, the first person that popped into my head is the extremely gorgeous Virginia Hankins.  I first saw her at the Renaissance Faire, jousting and sword fighting men twice her size and kicking their butt in the process. To my extreme pleasure, she was willing to sit down with me.  She is one of Hollywood’s hidden gems. She’s is the first female knight in the history of the Renaissance Pleasure Faire, has played Joan of Arc on TV, and rumor has it she was the inspiration for Princess Merida from Pixar’s Brave. Sexy as hell AND down to earth, this girl is the entire package.  She is an actress, model, stuntwoman, and… weapons expert? I had to find out more. Read more
